Lorena Gutiérrez
Leader of Mexico Operations

Attorney in Mexico

Lorena was born and raised in Guadalajara, Jalisco, within a family dedicated for generations to the Mexican culinary business, with one of the most recognized restaurant franchises in western Mexico. Surrounded by a culture of hard work, perseverance, and passion, she developed a strong and committed character. Education has also been a central value throughout her life: as the granddaughter of individuals who devoted themselves to providing better opportunities for their children and grandchildren, Lorena deeply appreciates the academic and professional paths that have been made possible through her family’s sacrifice—a legacy she honors daily with dedication and excellence.

She holds a law degree from Universidad Panamericana in Guadalajara, where she also earned a Master’s in Business and Commercial Law, with honors. She later completed a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), one of the world’s most prestigious academic institutions. Her education in both Mexico and the United States has provided her with a well-rounded legal perspective and the ability to act as a bridge between both legal systems.

With over twelve years of experience in corporate law, Lorena has worked for some of Mexico’s most prominent companies, including a leading steel manufacturer and a private energy company specializing in oil and gas exploration and extraction.

Her practice has focused on commercial transactions, civil matters, and highly complex regulatory issues. She is known for her technical precision, strategic thinking, and continuous drive for legal efficiency and innovation in every project she leads.

Beyond her professional career, Lorena is a wife and mother to a young daughter—roles she has successfully integrated into her personal and professional life. Her family experience has strengthened her empathy, organizational skills, and commitment to personal balance. For many years, she dedicated herself to dance, reaching a professional level that instilled in her a strong sense of discipline, sensitivity, and aesthetic vision—qualities that also enrich her legal practice.

Lorena joined the Firm out of a deep alignment with its mission and values. As a bilingual and bicultural attorney, she brings a unique perspective to cross-border matters, particularly in transactions that involve both Mexican and U.S. legal frameworks. Additionally, as the manager of the Firm’s affiliate in Mexico, she oversees and coordinates all operations and professionals working in various states, ensuring consistent, high-quality service for clients nationwide.

Her goal is to provide clear, approachable, and culturally aware legal counsel, guiding individuals and businesses through complex legal challenges in transnational contexts.
